Level: Advanced

Join this discussion of the Fed's mandate for conducting monetary policy and how it has impacted the financial markets as social distancing measures are the new norm.  Hear about factors behind the Fed's decision to cut rates and expand its balance sheet in the COVID-19 environment; the liquidity-boosting measures to prevent credit markets from seizing up; economic and financial variables you should keep track of in order to better anticipate how deep the recession is going to be, and why the Fed’s balance sheet may balloon above $10tn.
